Quality Notice: 101 MKII Iron GroovesUpdated 2 months ago

We have recently identified an isolated issue where a small number of 101 MKII irons have reached customers with superficial oxidation (rust) within the grooves.

Our technical investigation confirmed that during the manufacturing process, the sandblasting media, which contains trace amounts of steel, was not completely cleared prior to the final face treatment.

It is important to note that the stainless steel of the iron faces has not oxidized. Instead, the residual steel particles trapped in the grooves reacted to moisture. Because the initial production run was shrink-wrapped and warehoused well in advance of the launch, the lack of airflow created an environment where these particles could oxidize and firmly adhere to the groove walls.

Corrective Action

To ensure this does not recur, we have updated our manufacturing protocol to include an additional post-sandblasting treatment stage. This process ensures that all metallic residue is neutralized and thoroughly removed before the clubs are packaged.

Our Commitment

Quality is our priority. Every iron affected by this issue is fully covered under warranty. We will replace any impacted clubs free of charge, including all shipping costs.
